Netflix released the first teaser trailer of their upcoming star-studded movie “Don’t Look Up”. And it is slightly different from what I expected it to be. I am not saying it is bad.
But the images that Netflix released last month were all serious and gloomy. And I expected the trailer to have the same kind of tone. After all, it is the end of the world.
But what we got was kind of light-hearted. I mean, it still has intense moments. But the one-minute teaser trailer had a lot more comedic moments than I expected it to have.
And I liked that about it. It gave the movie that unexpected feeling that has been missing from some recent movies. And every cast member that was shown in the teaser looked amazing.
Let’s take a look at everything we know about Don’t Look Up as of now. And boy, we have a lot to talk about. I must say that it can be the biggest movie of Netflix in 2021.
Don’t Look Up Plot
The official synopsis of the movie reads “The story of two low-level astronomers, who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet earth.”
The movie will follow Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, two low-level astronomers, who will go on a world tour and will try and warn everyone that a comet is on the way to destroy Earth.
We don’t have any other information regarding the movie as of yet. Director Adam McKay said that this movie is based on how our world is so slow to adapt to things.
And will mainly focus on Climate Change and the inability of people to adapt. He stated in an interview that pandemic has changed the focus of the movie.
“That is kind of how it started. But then the pandemic hit. What that did was bring out what the movie is really about, which is how we communicate with each other. We can’t even talk to each other anymore. We can’t even agree. So it’s about climate change, but at its root it’s about what has the internet, what have cellphones, what has the modern world done to the way we communicate.”

The movie is all set to release on December 24, 2021. And it will release on Netflix exclusively. The movie is said to be 2 hours and 21 minutes long.

As I said, it is one of the heaviest cast I have ever seen. The movie will feature so many big names in it. The cast involves:

The movie will be directed by Adam McKay and he has directed some amazing movies like Vice in the past. So, I am expecting some big things here.
Don’t Look Up: What To Expect?
As I have seen the photos and read the plot, it is giving me more and more Arrival vibes. Don’t Look Up movie starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. It will be a slow movie like that only and will give you a lot to think about.
The main thing that surprised me was the humor in the trailer. I really thought that this movie will be all serious. But after seeing the trailer I can see that it will have some comedic moments too. And I am here for it.
Honestly, both Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence looked amazing in the trailer. And I am hyped up for the movie. Just give it to me now.
