Panchayat Season 2 Review: Panchayat Season 2 was supposed to release on May 20, 2022, but there is good news for all the fans. The show has been released 2 days early in the USA and you can access it on Amazon Prime as well.
You can also go to other sites to download the series but we don’t advise you to do that as it can get you in serious trouble. Now, let’s get into the series and see if it holds the same magic as the first season.
Panchayat Season 2 review is just as good as Season 1. And if we are being honest it might be even better in certain aspects. The expansion of the story from one tones village tale to so many things is just brilliant.
And the makers have done that expansion brilliantly. When you expand a story you have to take care of so many things. And the makers of Panchayat did that wonderfully. There was not a single scene where the show felt forced because of this expansion.
Panchayat Season 2 Review: Plot Analysis
Panchayat Season 2 Review: The second season starts right from where the first ended. Abhishek has found a little bit of peace in the village. But he still wants to go out as his friend is earning so much more than him. But he is not desperate to get out of the village now.
On the other hand, he has found Rinki, the daughter of the Sarpanch. And with the romantic angle, he has even more reasons to stay. The romantic angle in the second season was more pleasing than we thought it would be.
But Abhishek has to face new challenges daily. One of which is the new competition for the season of Sarpanch. That will be the main recurring theme of the second season. Rise of Manju Devi is also one of the main sub-plots of the second season. Panchayat Season 2 Review.
Panchayat Season 2 Review: What Worked For The Show
Expansion of Storyline
Panchayat Season 2 Review: One of the main reasons that the second season felt so fresh and unique even after following the same roots is because of the expansion. The makers kept the story fresh by adding new dynamics in every episode.
And it worked wonderfully for the show. The addition of competition for the Sarpanch was a stroke of genius as it gave the story a sense of urgency that we did not know it needed. And on the other hand, the romantic angle between the leads kept the story from going too deep in that category.
Cast
We thought of not adding this point as we all know how talented every cast member is and they will do wonders no matter what you give to them. But we were forced to add this point mainly because of two cast members.
Raghuvir Yadav and Neena Gupta. Raghuvir Yadav took his portrayal of laid back Sarpanch to a next level. His character’s calmness or rather laziness is just something else. And he portrayed that wonderfully.
But let us tell you who the real star of the show is. It was Neena Gupta, undoubtedly. We all know how good she really is. And giving her more screentime in the second season was the correct decision. Whenever she was on the screen there was not a single dull moment.
Other cast members also did a phenomenal job. They understood their roles and gave their best performances so far. But Neena Gupta completely overshadowed everyone and you have to watch the second season for her.
Runtime
I really like the runtime of the show. The whole second season is not even 3 hours long. That is the runtime of a movie. You can binge-watch the second season completely in just 2 hours and 30 minutes.
That is the perfect duration of a show to binge-watch it and get satisfied and still ask for more at the end of it.
Panchayat Season 2 Review: What Did Not Work For The Show?
Rush
We know that we said that the runtime of the show was a plus point. But just sometimes it felt like the show was rushed. If there were two more episodes with the same amount of content this would have been golden.
It is not a major down point, it is just something we noticed. It is more of nitpicking because when you are into the show you won’t even notice it for many parts.
Panchayat Season 2: Is It Worth It?
If you have watched season 1 there is no need to tell you if it is worth it or not. But if you are looking for a review, you should definitely watch it. It is the same raw show with more ambition than ever.
It is a perfect family show that you can watch in just under 3 hours. You don’t even need a weekend or anything to watch it. And there is no need that you have to binge it. You can watch it slowly and steadily as well.
