A spokesperson has confirmed to TMZ, "Anne Heche has been peacefully taken off life support.
The actress was declared dead on Friday, but her heart was kept beating to perserve her organs for possible donation.
Doctors told the outlet previously that the plan had been to begin the procedure to harvest some of Heche's organs on Sunday afternoon.
It has not been made clear what organs will be donated, or how many recipients there may be.
The accident left her in a coma. Anne's rep told TMZ on Friday the actress is "brain dead," which under California law is considered deceased.
A statement from the family reads: "We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend.
Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy.
Friends, colleagues and fellow entertainers took to social media to mourn and pay tribute to the late star, including her ex Ellen DeGeneres.
