Ravichandran Ashwin has admitted that he made changes to his bowling action for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but it had nothing to do with Australia's preparation for the series.
The visitors included Mahesh Pithia, a young spinner whose bowling action was similar to Ashwin's, as they looked to tackle India's experienced spinner.
Asked about Australia's preparations after the match, the off-spinner admitted that he had made changes to his bowling action for the series.
He said that he had his own reasons for changing his load and was happy that all went well.
I think that person is long gone. However, I changed my action for this series. But it has nothing to do with how Australia prepares for the series.
Every team that goes on a tour, know how difficult it is to start a tour. We are trying to recreate the match scenarios as much as possible.
Australia will do the same as we do when we go to Australia or England. We will do the same.
Ashwin also praised his spin partner Ravindra Jadeja and described him as an invaluable asset to the team.
