India became the second team to lift the World Cup trophy, and it was just as magical as you are thinking. And this movie somehow recreates that exact scene that my father used to tell me. 83 is an experience that all of you should witness at least once.

Cast
The cast that they have assembled is just phenomenal. Ranveer Singh was the main highlight, but every other cast member gave their best performance. The screentime divided between every player was so good.
Every cast member gets their due in screentime and gets the opportunity to show what they can do. And I think that was good as many people thought that only Ranveer Singh would get the majority of screen time as Kapil Dev, but that was not the case.

I know I have mentioned the cast, but if I don’t say Ranveer Singh separately, it will be so unfair. Because he just dropped performance of a lifetime, and it was just incredible. He completely embodied Kapil Dev, and that is not an easy task.
The resemblance is uncanny, and they have shown you actual shots of Kapil Dev, and you might not be able to differentiate between them. The makeup, the aesthetic, everything has been done so brilliantly.

Realism
I thought that they would over-dramatize this movie in so many scenes, affecting the film. But I am happy that they did not. There was not even a little bit of exaggeration in any scene.
The locker room talks, the scenes with players’ wives, and the other scenes are acceptable. And none of the temper of the stage with the movie in any way.
Makeup and Styling
I want to give a special shout-out to this movie’s makeup and styling team. Because they have done some tremendous work. The resemblance of every actor from cricketers is just uncanny.

Background Score
The background score of the movie is irritating. It was so loud that it affected some of the dialogues and some entertaining scenes. Almost every bit of Boman Irani’s commentary was dimmed down because of the background score.
