The first part of the series was scheduled to release back in 2019 all the way. It was Ayan’s dream and he has been working on this script since Ye Jawani Hai Deewani. But the release date kept on getting delayed and delayed.
But, it looks like we will finally be getting the movie as Dharma Production just announced the release date of the trailer. Yes, don’t get your hopes up too much as it is just a trailer announcement and the release date of the movie is still in the air.

Brahmāstra: Doomed To Fail??
There is a constant trend in the Bollywood industry regarding movies that are constantly delayed. The audience gets too frustrated from the delay that they decide to completely ignore the movie. And that is why the movie fails to do well at the box office.
There are so many examples like Sanjay Dutt Mehboob, Sunny Deol and Kangana Ranaut’s I Love NY. Or you can take Ranbeer Kapoor’s own movie Jagga Jaasoos. Even hopeful projects like Milenge Milege failed because of the delay.
The constant delay also begged the question about Ranbeer Kapoor’s career. As he has not done a single movie since Sanju back in 2018. And even he realized that he can’t put all his eggs in Bhramastra hoping that it would release someday.
So, he went ahead and got in super work mode. And he completed the shooting of Shamsheera and signed two new movies. So, it begs the question what if Bhramastra does not do as well as the makers want it to.

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva: Release Date
Part one of Bhramastra is all set to release in 100 days’ time if there is no delay now. The movie will be released on September 9, 2022, in theaters exclusively. And we hope there is no delay this time around.
Another delay will not only kill the movie for the audience it will also affect everyone who is involved in this project. And it is only the first part of a three-part series. So, makers have to keep that in mind as well.
Brahmāstra: Cast
The cast announced so far is also looking amazing. We saw some of the characters in character announcement videos. Now, the teaser has also introduced us to some new characters as well.
- Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva
- Alia Bhatt as Isha
- Amitabh Bachchan
- Nagarjuna
- Mouni Roy
- Dimple Kapadia
- Divyendu Sharma
- Dhruv Sehgal
- Saurav Gurjar
- Shah Rukh Khan, a scientist
A Brave Decision!!
No matter how you look at it, a project this ambitious is a brave decision no matter what industry it is. Ayan Mukherji took inspiration from S.S.Rajamouli for this project. And even Prabhas has said that people really did not understand when they were involved in the shooting of Bahubali for five years.
Producers don’t really back movies this big and this ambitious because of the risk factor. Because in the end, it all comes down to business. But we are at a point where we have to stop discussing the budget of the movie.
We can take the example of Kalank whose budget was almost 150 crore and it completely failed to capture the audience. In the end, it will all come down to how well Brahmāstra will be able to capture the audience with its storytelling and VFX.
