Jersey Story
The story revolves around an ex-cricketer who is struggling to survive and to fulfill his child’s wish of getting a Jersey that costs Rs. 500. But due to the lack of enough money, he struggles to purchase that one Jersey for his child.
He asked his wife for Rs 500 to buy his child that Jersey. But she refused to buy him one and he can’t refuse that.
10 years later, Arjun is jobless and always disrespected by his wife Vidya, as he is not providing for the home and expenses.
Their 7-year-old son Kittu, asks his father for an Indian jersey that costs 500 rupees. Despite not having the money to buy Jersey for his son, he promises Kittu that he will gift him the jersey on his next birthday.
When Arjun’s ex-coach knew all the situation, he approaches Arjun with a request to play in a charity match.
They also promised Arjun a 1000 rupees match fee based on his performance for the job as the assistant coach.
Arjun plays the match and gives a wonderful performance in the match, but later, he finds out that there is no match fee. When Kittu asks him for the jersey, Arjun slaps him in a fit of depression.
On realizing the depth of his son’s love for him, Arjun decides to play cricket again.
His wife put a condition for him if he wants to play cricket or choose family over cricket. As Arjun was already pissed at all the situations around him, he chose cricket over his family.
He wanted to make his child proud of him and not to think that his dad is a loser.
Coach is shocked at first but he supports him later. Arjun attends the Hyderabad Ranji team selection trials and based on some stellar performances as a batsman, Arjun gets selected to play on the Ranji cricket team.
Arjun starts representing the team and plays exceptionally well which leads his team to the Ranji finals. He also wins back the love of his wife.
In the finals, when the Hyderabad team is stuck in a tough situation, Arjun single-handedly leads the team to victory, but he himself collapses soon after the match.
