Narappa Official Trailer: As I said, Amazon Prime is on a roll right now with all these trailers. Earlier today they released the Hostel Daze season 2 trailer and soon after that Narappa trailer dropped.
And the trailer looked amazing. Narappa is an upcoming Telugu movie based on the Tamil novel “Vekkai“. And another interesting fact is that it is the official remake of Dhanush’s Asuran.
Asuran came out in 2019 and was a massive hit on the box office. The movie made a business of around 100 crore, which is still a big deal.
Now, Narappa might not be able to achieve that. As the movie is not releasing in halls but will release on an OTT platform instead. As half of India’s cinema halls are still closed amidst pandemics.
But landing a deal with one of India’s leading OTT platforms is still a very big achievement. And the revenue it will generate might even edge out Asuran in some aspects.
Narappa Plot
Narappa Official Trailer: As I said earlier, Narappa is based on the Tamil novel “Vekkai”.
The official synopsis of the movie reads “NARAPPA is forced to flee into the forest with his younger son, Sinnabba, after Sinnabba murders an upper-caste landlord to avenge his older brother’s death. And now Narappa must make more sacrifices and navigate a deeply unjust justice system to give his son a chance at future.”.
If you have watched Asuran you will exactly know what the story is. Because Narappa is a shot-to-shot remake of that movie. Even the trailer of both movies is absolutely identical.
The plot of the movie is really simple and there is nothing much to it. It is a revenge and survival tale. A hot-blooded young man will become a responsible father.
And he will try everything to give his son what he didn’t have for himself. It is a tale of his grit and survival and what he will do to save his family.
Narappa Release Date
The movie is all set to release on July 20, 2021. I was expecting a release date of August as the trailer just came out. But I am not complaining that we are getting it so soon.
You can watch the movie on Amazon Prime Videos as it will release theirs exclusively.
Narappa Cast
The cast of Narappa actually looks better than the original one. At least it is how I look at it. Narappa actually has a more recognizable cast for the causal fans.
The cast includes:
- Venkatesh Daggubati as Narappa
- Priyamani as Sundaramma
- Karthik Rathnam as Munikanna
- Rajsekhar Aningi as Veeranna
- Rao Ramesh
- Rajeev Kanakala
- Deepak Shetty
Venkatesh will make his return after 2019. And it has been so long since we saw him in a serious role. He also had shed some weight to play the role of younger Narappa.
We will see Priyamani for the first time after Family Man season 2. We all know how talented an actress she is. Let’s hope she shows that to us here also.
Srikanth Addala has directed the movie while Vetrimaaran has penned down the script. D. Suresh Babu, Vijay Donkada, and Devi Sridevi Satish have produced the music while music is by Mani Sharma.
