As Oscar is around the corner and Hollywood is all soaked in this award festivity, Priyanka Chopra hosted a pre-oscar event for honoring the extremely talented South Asian Nominees. The event was co-hosted by Mindy Kaling, Kumail Nanjiani, Anjula Acharia, Bela Bajaria, Maneesh K Goyal and Shruti Ganguly. In the event, Priyanka Chopra was looking sizzling hot in the black saree she wore.
The nominees which were honored in this pre-oscar event were Riz Ahmed, whose movie “FLEE” is nominated as the best documentary, International feature, and Animated feature, also his short film “The Long Goodbye” is also nominated for Best Live Action Short. Joseph Patel’s “Summer of Soul” is also nominated in the Best Documentary category. For an Indian documentary “Writing with Fire” Rintu Thomas, Sumit Ghosh, and Anurima Bhargava receive the nomination. Suroosh Alvi (Flee), Pawo Choying Dorji (Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom), Aneil Karia (The Long Goodbye), Elizabeth Mirzaei, and Gulistan Mirzaei (Three Songs for Benazir) are some South Asians who are nominated in the Oscar this year. Last night gave me all the feels and filled me with so much pride for how far our community has come. The future of entertainment is looking bright.”
She also shared that “Special thanks to Anjula Acharia and Maneesh Goyal for having this idea and the cohosts who came together to make an unprecedented evening like this possible.
