    Aar Ya Paar Review

Hotstar has been trying to produce a statement web series for a long time. And in 2022, they have come close to achieving that target quite a few times. But they also have produced some duds.

And even though Aar Ya Paar looked like a show that could attract both mass and critical audiences. But what we really got was a show that failed in both aspects. The latest Hotstar series presents an intense hybrid issue but fails to capture an audience.

It tries so hard to capture the world as it is right now, and it succeeds in doing that for the most part. But that also becomes its weak point. The filmy way of showing a hero triumph over all comes in between that.

Now, let’s look at all the positive and negative aspects of Aar Ya Paar to show if the show is binge-worthy.

    Aar Ya Paar Review

    Aar Ya Paar Review: Plot

The show revolves around Sarju and his Degohati Tribe. Aar Ya Paar focuses on two worlds entirely different from each other. One of the Degohati tribes speaks the language of love; the other is the modern world that greed takes over.

That greed becomes the end of the Degohati tribe. When the prominent businessman Rueben fails to extract Uranium from the forest of the Degohati tribe, he poisons their water to rule them out of there. He wrecks the jungle.

Sarju has blood on his mind and is ready to take revenge. He turns himself into a ruthless assassin and takes an oath to destroy Rueben. But will it be that easy? There will be lots of obstacles and dangers to overcome.

Aar Ya Paar Review: What Worked For The Show?

    Action Sequences

One thing that really separates Aar Ya Paar from other shows is the action scenes. All the action scenes are amazingly choreographed and shot beautifully. Using different camera angles for every shot does wonder for the show.

    Aditya Rawal

Aditya Rawal plays the role of Sarju, who does not speak much. And still, he was able to convey everything through his expressions. You can say this was a stand-out performance that might define his career.

Aditya Rawal was phenomenal and somehow broke the curse of mediocre writing. He made everything that was given to him work and was shining throughout.

    Aar Ya Paar Complete Cast

Aar Ya Paar Review: What Did Not Worked For The Show?

    Slow Pace

The first two episodes of Aar Ya Paar are snail-paced. You can’t be any slower, even if you tried to be. It took them 80 minutes to complete Sarju’s transformation and take the plot forward.

    Side Cast

Again, the blame for the average performances of the side cast can be forced onto the writing as there was nothing for them to do. The writing was bland and did not offer any character development.

But considering the quality of the cast members and what we have seen from them in their careers, the performances were nothing to write home about.

    Writing

The biggest problem lay in the writing of the show. After the first 30 minutes, the show completely takes its focus from Degohati Tribe and makes the show all about Sarju and his revenge.

The subplot serves no purpose at all, and sidelining the tribe significantly hurts the show. We did not get any chance to connect with the tribe, so the emotional punch at the end did not hurt as much as it should have.

Aar Ya Paar Review: Is It Worth It?

The show is a one-time watch at max. What looked like a show with all the potential remained that only until the end. The creators thought of something unique and nice but completely failed in the execution.

The slow pace will really bore you down from time to time. The action sequences and Aditya Rawal will give you some hope, but then the climax and the plot will kill you slowly again.
