Love Hostel Review: Sometimes, just sometimes a movie comes that completely shakes you from your core. And this time, Zee5 brought us a movie just like that. Love Hostel is such a shocking movie that will show you the reality of the world.
The movie is based on the topic of Honor Killing. We have seen so many movies on this topic over the years. But Love Hostel is different from those movies. This 1-hour 30-minute flick is not just a romanticizing of the topic but shows how brutal it can be.
It also deals with the legal part of the topic. Love Hostel shows us all the things the government had done for the couples like these and how everyone has broken those rules times and times again.
Love Hostel Review
The official synopsis of the movie reads “Set against the pulsating backdrop of rustic North India, Love Hostel traces the volatile journey of a spirited young couple, being hunted by a ruthless mercenary.”
Love Hostel deals with a runaway couple and how their family tries to kill them in the name of honor. Ashu Shokeen is a Haryanvi Muslim and Jyoti Dilawar is a Haryanvi Jaat girl and both of them get married without the permission of their family.
And when a couple does that Government provides them a safe house so that everything calms down. And the couple remains safe. But are those safe houses really safe and does the couple that enters them remain alive or not? That is the real question.
Love Hostel Review – What Worked well?
Cast Members
We don’t think we have seen a better collective performance in a movie for a long time now. Everyone in this movie gave one of their best performances. Sanya Malhotra has done a brilliant job as a Haryanvi Jaat woman. Some of her shots are just amazing.
Vikrant Massey can indulge himself in any role. He has never given a bad performance after finding himself and once again he proved that. But the real star of the movie is undoubtedly Bobby Deol.
Whenever he was onscreen, you will feel the terror and the tension will be on the rise every time. He completely devoted himself to this world-saving extreme killer role and never felt out of it.
Climax
I never expected this movie to have such a brilliant climax. I can say that you would never expect the things that would happen in this climax. Definitely one of the best climaxes I have ever seen in a movie.
The climax is going to completely shake you down to the core. It was completely unexpected and was really shocking if I have to say the least.
Screenplay
The screenplay is so tightly written that you won’t be able to look away even for a second. There is some kind of tension and terror in the movie for the entire duration. The way it was shot was also really good.
It just shows that if you can write a really good screenplay on this type of social issue you can have a movie that everyone will talk about.
Love Hostel Review: What Did Not Work For The Movie?
Controversy
If this movie gets some kind of publicity and the audience actually starts watching it, it can create controversies. There are lots of potential problematic scenes that can really hurt the sentiments of some fans.
But it’s up to the fans to interpret the movie in any way that they want.
Love Hostel Review: Is It Worth It?
If you want to watch this movie as a movie, then yes. But if you look at it as a communal agenda, then no. It is up to you completely how you want to interpret this movie. But Love Hostel is not even 2 hours long and will be your perfect watch for this Sunday if you decide to watch it.
