It looks different from all the usual Ullu series we have gotten over the years. I don’t know if it is because of the latest censorship law or something. But Ullu is trying something new, and it is a welcome change.
Now, coming back to the trailer, it looked brilliant. It featured some very well-known actors that you might not think of seeing on an Ullu original show. It just states that Ullu is growing, both in terms of story and star power.

The Devil Inside Plot/storyline
The official storyline of the show is still not revealed by the makers. But it looks like a revenge love story. We have seen this kind of thrillers from Ullu for a while now.
It has been described as a love story thriller, and that is all we know. The trailer looks like it will focus on a man who is almost 40 years old and still isn’t married.

But one day, he suddenly gets married, and the twists come when his boss falls for her. So he deals with the man, but it looks like our protagonist had a different plan from the start.

The Devil Inside Ullu Web Series Release Date
The show is all set to release on 13th August 2021. There will be four episodes in the series, with every episode being 20 to 25 minutes long. I think it is the perfect length for a binge-watch-worthy show.

As I said, Ullu focuses on the story rather than all the other aspects. The other elements are still there, but the story is as well. And The Devil Inside is a perfect example of that.
It looks like the recent censorship laws have forced Ullu into this. It is also possible that Ullu has realized that they can’t reach the next level without producing decent web series with stories in it.
We have seen recent web series like Tandoor from Ullu that have stories to them. Moreover, even more, stars join the Ullu one after the other.
We saw Rashmi Desai in the past in series like Tandoor. Arshi Khan has been a constant figure now in the Ullu series. And finally, we just got Sharib Hashmi in the latest Ullu series.
There is no doubt that Ullu is growing, and if they keep producing series like ‘The Devil Inside’ with big stars, their popularity will increase without any doubt. Now, without further ado, let’s get on with the review of ‘The Devil Inside.’
As I said earlier, there is some story to the series for a change. The Devil Inside is predictable from the first scene, and there is no doubt about it. But it has enough elements to keep you invested throughout the series.
And I was having just two episodes worked in its favor. I was excited for this series only for one reason: Sharib Hashmi. And he didn’t disappoint even a little bit. We will talk about his performance in detail.
Just like every other Ullu series, ‘The Devil Inside’ is also very fast-paced and ends before it can even start. That is the trademark of every Ullu series now.
The Devil Inside: What Worked For The Show
Sharib Hashmi
Having an actor of Sharib’s level works out for every series. He gave yet another brilliant performance and was all over the show. If you are a fan of Sharib’w work, you are in for a treat.
You will see all of his shades as an actor. There are so many shades to his character in this show, and he performed every single shade very well. He looked believable as an innocent man.
But he also knocked it out of the park as a devious man ready to burn everything down. He carried the show on his back, and I can’t praise him more.
Little Bit Of Story
Yes, I know that the show’s story was not that good. But we have to see that we are talking about an Ullu series here. And Ullu is not famous for its story in any way.
The little bit of story that we got here was a welcome change from all the same things we were getting from Ullu for such a long time now. It was predictable, but at the same time, it will keep you interested in the show.
There was nothing too much distinguished in this series, but still, it was something that I didn’t expect from Ullu for a long time. So, they got out of their comfort zone and tried something new. So they should be praised for it.
The Devil Inside: What Didn’t Worked For The Show
Pacing
As I said, everything was so fast in the series. So many things were happening simultaneously, and it was tough to digest anything. And that is the trademark speed of Ullu as we know it.
But, now that Ullu is trying something new, they should also focus on the pacing of the series. It will help them massively and please the viewers of the series.
If ‘The Devil Inside’ had two more episodes, it could have been so much better than it was. It could have given more time to viewers to digest what was happening.
It would have also given stars like Ananya Sengupta more screentime which was needed. Because other than Sharib, she was the best cast member in the series, but with only two episodes, the exposure was nowhere near as required.

Sharib Hashmi is playing the main protagonist of the show. And he is a big star in his own right. You have seen him in shows like The Family Man and Scam 1992. And he didn’t disappoint here either.
I have already talked about how good he was, so there is no need to repeat that.
Arshi Khan played the role of Kamini, and we all know why she was in the series. She was here to look glamorous, and she did that with ease. Nasir Abdullah also did a great job with the kind of role he gave.
Ananya Sengupta was the real surprise here. She impressed me with her performance. She was perfect, and if there were two more episodes, she would have stolen the show.
