And it was the same when Tom Hanks came in front of me while I was watching ‘1883’. Tom Hanks is one of the most beloved actors of all time. And him appearing in the show elevated the show.
Tom Hanks appeared in the second episode of 1883. 1883 is a prequel to the 2018 show Yellowstone. Yellowstone itself was loved by so many fans around the globe. So much that the studio decided to make a prequel out of that show.
Tom Hanks appeared alongside Tim McGraw in the show. And it turns out both Tom Hanks and Tim McGraw are friends for a long while now.

1883: Plot
As I said earlier, 1883 is a prequel to the show Yellowstone. The show is based in the late 18th century. It follows the origin of the Dutton Family.
More specifically, the series runs around the ancestors of the Dutton family, James, and Margaret Dutton. As both of them goes on a journey through Great Plains to find the last bastion of untamed America.

As of now, only 3 episodes of the show have been out. With the third being released today only. But the reception it has received from fans is just amazing. 1883 set the new record for the most-watched original series premiere on Paramount+. And it also drew 4.9 million total viewers on the linear broadcast. This makes it cable’s biggest new series since 2015
And the inclusion of Hanks, even though it was for one scene was really major. It solidified the position of the show in eyes of the fans. And some of them will watch the future episodes in hope that Tom Hans will make a re-appearance.

If that is not enough to tempt you, the show itself is very good. The drama, the tension, the thrill everything has been really good so far. I have struggled to connect with cowboy era shows in the past because they never generated that organic feel.
But both Yellowstone and 1883 have got that area covered. Every scene feels organic and that is a very big deal. The dialogues are top-notch and the drama is tense how it should be. This might also make you emotional depending on how much you can handle. So, overall it is a very good watch.
