Laal Singh Chadda Review: It is such a laughing matter that movies like Laal Singh Chadda and Raksha Bandhan are getting boycotted. When the movies are so bad, the audience should avoid them at any cost.
Laal Singh Chadda was finally released, which is very disappointing. Based on one of the most celebrated movies of all time, “Forrest Gump,” Laal Singh Chadda is a disaster, and many reasons exist.
It can be a lack of research, a very bad performance by Aamir Khan, or the lack of emotional factor that made the original a masterpiece in the first place. We will discuss everything in detail, but you must be ready for disappointment.
Here we are telling you about the good and bad aspects of Laal Singh Chadda so you can decide whether to watch this movie or not. Let’s get on with it.
Laal Singh Chadda Review: What Worked For The Movie?
Cast
The movie’s cast did a very good job apart from the lead actor. Kareena Kapoor was outstanding in her role. Naga Akkineni was also excellent and did his job perfectly. But even they could not save the movie from disaster.
The cameo of Shahrukh Khan was a pleasant surprise, and he once again showed what the industry is missing without him. Manav Vij and other supporting cast members also did a pretty good job.
Music
The music of this movie is really good. Sonu Nigam and Pritam have composed a very soulful album you will like the more you listen. Arijit Singh’s voice increased the impact of every song amazingly.
Laal Singh Chadda Review: What Did Not Worked For The Movie?
Inaccurate
The movie is inaccurate on so many points that it is a shame to say that this movie belongs to a big production house. Laal Singh Chadda adapts the army recruiting process directly from the original version without changing anything.
And that is just wrong and absurd. Forrest was selected in the army as part of Project 100,000, where the American army selected 1 lakh soldiers just for the Vietnam War. All these misfits had less IQ than required.
And Laal Singh Chadda does the same thing saying that the Indian army does the same thing. Indian Army has never done anything like that, and the makers should have fact-checked it before showing it to the audience.
Screenplay
The screenplay of Laal Singh Chadda is questionable at so many points. There is a scene where Aamir Khan accidentally brings back a Pakistani soldier from the frontline, thinking he was an Indian soldier.
And rather than treating the soldier like a prisoner of war, the Indian army gives him a pension, and he starts a business with Laal Singh himself. There are so many other questionable things in the movie that will baffle your mind.
Aamir Khan
This might be the first time where Aamir Khan’s acting will look cringe to you. It was like he never came out of PK while making this film; that is not what you expect from Aamir Khan. He is just downright bad in this movie.
A Bad Remake and Original
The story that is going around is that almost every Indian has watched Forrest Gump, and that will affect the movie. But that is not true at all. There is a broad audience who has not watched Forrest Gump in India.
And even to that audience, this movie will look bad because it does not make sense and won’t make you emotional. It is an insult to the original and fails as an original itself.
Laal Singh Chadda Review: Is It Worth It?
There is no doubt that the movie has some positive points. But the lack of research and god-awful screenplay make it one to avoid. Not a single aspect of the movie will really make you happy.
It is an insult to the Indian army, and I am not writing this for interaction only. Because the Indian Army always takes pride in their soldier, and Laal Singh Chadda completely obliterates that.
Not a single movie that was released this week is worth it. You should stick to OTT release Darlings and Karthikeya 2 to avoid disappointment.
