Raksha Bandhan Trailer: Akshay Kumar is back on our screens. Well, he never really left if we are talking about it. Akshay Kumar has been on a roll in the movie he has made. Even in the pandemic, he was giving hits one after another.
But recently, out of his recent movies, there have been hits and misses, and no one can deny that. His big-name projects like Bacchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj were flops. These movies were not even able to return the invested amount.
The reason for these flops is the lousy scripting that Akshay Kumar failed to deliver. But finally, it looks like Akshay Kumar has found a script that he can deliver to his full extent. Raksha Bandhan looks like a movie that will help him realize his lost potential again.
My favorite movie by Akshay Kumar during the pandemic was Atrangi Re. And Raksha Bandhan is directed by the same director, Anand L Rai. So, once again, I have high expectations from this movie as well.
Raksha Bandhan: Plot
Raksha Bandhan Trailer: The movie revolves around a brother of four sisters who has promised his deceased mother that he will marry his sisters and then get married himself. But, this promise seems like a thing that will result at the end of his love life.
He is getting older and older, and there is no sign of his sister getting married. His girlfriend is getting anxious, and even her family wants to get her married as quickly as possible. This scenario touched up upon the stereotypical Indian middle-class family.
With 6 months to get his sisters married and save his love life, the brother has to make some tough decisions. After all, getting four sisters married is not an easy task, no matter who you are.
Even though there are some stereotypical aspects in the trailer, the plot is simple and emotional. It can be an emotional wreck of a movie in a good way if we go according to the trailer.
Raksha Bandhan: Cast
The cast of the movie shouts strong in all languages. Akshay Kumar might have the same look as his last few movies. But this look can actually work this time and goes with the character. We are getting ready for the best Akshay Kumar performance in recent times.
Bhoomi Pedenekar is the female lead, and her role is the one I am most anxious about. Her character comes off like a loud mouth in the trailer, which is never good. She seems to be shouting in the first few seconds of the trailer, which is worrying.
Sadia Khateeb is the second female lead and will play the role of the eldest sister. Her acting was phenomenal in Shikara. You should check that out. Her relationship with his brother will be the pivotal point of the movie; everyone can see that.
The complete cast is as follows:
- Akshay Kumar
- Bhumi Pednekar
- Sahejmeen Kaur
- Deepika Khanna
- Sadia Khateeb
- Smrithi Srikanth
- Seema Pahwa
Raksha Bandhan: Release Date
The movie is all set to release on August 11, 2022. The film is scheduled for theatrical release, and it seems the perfect place for this kind of movie. We thought this movie would be chucked onto an OTT platform, but we are glad that is not the case.
The movie is rated U/A, meaning you can watch and enjoy it with your family. The movie lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes, making it perfect for a weekend watch.
Raksha Bandhan: What To Expect?
Raksha Bandhan Trailer: As we have said, we are excited about Akshay Kumar and Anand L Rai’s collaboration. Every time they come together, there is some kind of magic. We know that Akshay Kumar is a very gifted actor, but he has lost his charm recently.
And maybe a movie like Raksha Bandhan does not promise to be a larger-than-life movie but a grounded mass entertainer. Akshay Kumar can thrive without the pressure of delivering a blockbuster.
We have high expectations from Raksha Bandhan. And the trailer seems funny and emotional. And if the movie can replicate those emotions, we are in for a treat.
