Dhaakad Review: We were really excited about Dhaakad. And there were so many reasons for it. The first was that it looked like a fantastic action flick. The second was the antagonist duo of Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta.
And the last and final one was how they portray a female protagonist. We have seen many Bollywood movies where the term women empowerment only spreads through abusive language and revenge tales.
Bollywood is filled with norms that were to show a woman powerful; the makers used to rely on revenge tales only. The female protagonist used to get something terrible that happened to her, and she would take revenge on everyone.
But Dhaakad is entirely different from all those tropes. It was clear from the trailer and that was the main reason for our excitement. Also read: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Box Office Collection Day 1
Dhaakad Review: Plot Analysis

The movie’s official synopsis reads, “Agent Agni, a highly trained and deadly field agent, is entrusted with the mission to gather Intel and eliminate Rudraveer, an international humanitarian and arms trafficker who has been off the radar for ten years.”
The movie revolves around Agni, one of the deadliest agents to exist right now. And looking at her reputation, she got trusted with one of the most challenging cases involving one of the most powerful criminals.
But the story is just not that simple. The movie will dive deep into Agni’s history, which is disturbing. To solve this mystery, Agni has to get over her past and bury her demons deep into the ground. You may like: Bagheera: KGF producer announces his upcoming film
Dhaakad Review: What Worked For The Movie?
Story
Dhaakad Review: The story was simple to a certain extent. It was a spy thriller, and it stayed honest. And that is the strong point of the movie. In the era when we are getting spy movies like Heropanti 2, Dhaakad is a fresh change.
Even if we take away the female protagonist part, the movie is still something unique presented in front of Indian audiences.
Visuals
Dhaakad Review: Talking about something unique, the visuals of this movie are entirely delightful. One of the most decorated Japanese cinematographers, Tetsu Nagata handles the cinematography.
And you can see the difference. The black and white flashback scenes and the color pallet that the present scenes used were delightful. No matter what, Dhaakad was a visually pleasing movie to every extent. For you: ‘The Kashmir Files’ crosses 90 million views in its first week on Zee5, recently streamed.
Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta

Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta are just something else. It is a shame that we still have not recognized them as one of the best performers. Arjun Rampal might have hit and miss performances sometimes.
But Divya Dutta has always excelled no matter what role is given to her. And he does that here brilliantly as well.
Risky Movie
These might not be positive points but kudos to the makers for trying and presenting something new to us in this monotonous industry. Let’s talk about everything that we liked from that perspective.
First of all, it is a female-led action movie, and no one does that in Bollywood. Secondly, it is a spy thriller right down its core, and no one does that as well in Bollywood. Thirdly, there is no romantic plot that might hinder your experience.
Even the inclusion of Kangana can be considered risky nowadays. But no one could have played the part of Agni better than her. And she proved that again and again. Also read: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Review: A Surprising Movie
Dhaakad Review: What Did Not Work For The Movie?
Climax
After trying everything new, the makers did what we have seen many times before. The climax of Dhaakad is really weak and follows one of the most generic tropes we see in Bollywood every time.
Secondly, it does not even make any sense. There was no justification for it, and it popped out of nowhere. The journey was good, but the ending was really underwhelming.
Character Development
The characters in this movie could have been so iconic, and there is doubt about that. The introduction scene of every character made them look like 100 bucks. But, the characters never really were able to get away from that.
There is no character development for the complete runtime of the movie, and it is sad in so many parts. All the characters are good, but they could have been better.
Dhaakad Review: Is It Worth It?
Dhaakad Review: Definitely, Yes!! It is not a perfect movie in any sense. But at least it is something new and gives us something fresh. This movie will get stuck in your mind because of various factors. And it is such a brilliant flick.
The efforts of everyone involved in this movie and what they achieved dealing with budget restrictions and many unknown factors are admirable. You must watch this movie in the halls because it deserves that treatment. Keep reading: Men Review: A Disturbing Yet Captivating Tale
