Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda will be seen as V.D. in the upcoming biopic ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’. Will play the role of Savarkar. Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda will be seen in the upcoming biopic ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ as V.D. Will play the role of Savarkar. The shooting of the film will start in June 2022.
The film will be shot at various locations in London, Maharashtra, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to the makers, it will highlight India’s independence movement from a different spectrum.
The film will be directed by Mahesh V. Manjrekar. Randeep Hooda is happy that he has been roped in for the role. He said that there are many such heroes who have played an important role in getting us our freedom. However, not everyone has got their due. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was the most misunderstood of these unsung heroes. His story should be told.
This is the second time Randeep will be working with Sandeep Singh, his previous association with the 2016 biopic ‘Sarbjit’.
Commenting on the collaboration, Randeep shared that I am glad to collaborate with Sandeep for ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ after ‘Sarbjit’. This will be another challenging role to portray.

Director Mahesh V. Manjrekar, who has been working on the subject for almost a year, calls the film a cinematic narrative and says that it is the right time to tell the stories that we had overlooked. ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ edgy cinematic plot that will force us to rethink our history. I wanted to collaborate with Sandeep Singh and I am glad that we are doing this film together.
Swatantra Veer Savarkar is produced by Anand Pandit’s Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Legend Studios by Sandeep Singh and Sam Khan and is co-produced by Roopa Pandit and Jai Pandya.
Praising Randeep’s acting skills, producer Sandeep Singh says that there are very few actors in India who can create magic with their talent, and Randeep is one of them. Considering Veer Savarkar as one of the most controversial characters in Indian history, I could only think of Randeep for the role.
