Glimpse about the PMT Scam
The MP-PMT scam, which is also known as Vyapam Scam was involved 13 different exams conducted by Vyapam for the selection of medical students and state government employees (including food inspectors, transport constables, sub-inspectors, government school teachers, dairy supply officers, and forest guards) where the final results were rigged.
The exams were taken by around 3.2 million students each year. Most of the examinees were paid proxies for other undeserving students. It also included an “engine-bogie” system wherein seating arrangements were manipulated so that a paid, more competent student was seated between two others to allow the latter to copy answers from the former.

The Whistleblower Web Series is based on the same scam of Madhya Pradesh, India. The scam was so big that the government was in shock and unable to stop all the terrible events in the state. 3.2 Million students who appeared in the examination were outraged, and there were protests all around the state.
Some mafias bagged a massive profit of crores of rupees for proxies and sold question papers to the attendees. Later on, the scam was in the spotlight, and the students were on the road protesting against the scam.
More than 17000 students and other people were arrested in the investigation of this scam, and more than 50 People were killed either by the police lathi charge or by others. More than 50 unnatural deaths shook the political pillars and Law and order.
