The Witcher Season 2 Review: The second season of The Witcher just dropped on Netflix, and what a show it is. I liked the first season and was excited for the second. And I am glad to say that the second season exceeded all my expectations.
It is not a perfect show by any means; it has its point. But the good things about the show are too good and make the show one of the best right now. I was stuck to my television from the show’s start to the absolute end.
You will be shocked to see that Netflix doubled down on the fact that they have a perfect thing on their hand. And they didn’t ruin it by doing something stupid. Remember “13 Reasons Why”?
So, as you have figured it out by now, I liked the second season of Witcher, and it was terrific. So, without wasting much time, let’s get on with the review of The Witcher 2 and see what the fuss is all about.

The Whistleblower (SonyLiv) Web Series REVIEW, Plot, Release Date & Cast
The Witcher 2: Plot
The official synopsis of the show reads, “Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.”
The second season started right after the end of Season 1. Ciri is with Geralt now, and Yeneffer finds her path and herself.
The Power Of The Dog Review: Jane Campion Returns With A Slow Burning Masterpiece
Geralt has the responsibility of keeping Ciri safe from every possible danger. And he will do anything to achieve that.
But what will happen when he realizes that Ciri might be one of the most influential people in the world? The training of Ciri starts, and new secrets begin to reveal. And both Geralt and Ciri realize that the real story is so much bigger than they anticipated.
On the other hand, Yeneffer is fighting her own battles all alone. And her arc is terrific. Her arc might be my favorite thing in the show. It was just surreal. And on one side, we also saw Geralt fighting his loneliness, which will break your heart.

The Witcher 2 Review: Postives
Linear Storyline
Witcher Season 2 Review: Thank God they dropped the non-linear storyline. Because it was confusing, complex and there was no need to do it. The non-linear storyline did not work in the first season, and I was scared if they would try it again or not.
Thank God they did not try that kind of timeline again, and the show flourished as it was destined to.
Characters
The characters are still the driving point of The Witcher series as they should be. Again new characters were introduced, and they were good. Old characters got more depth to their feelings, and it was a delight to see.
There are so many great characters in The Witcher, and the fact that not even a single character feels stale is just brilliant.

Music
Just like the first season, the music of the second season is brilliant. It might not be as good as the first season, but it is still bright. The background music completely elevated the show, and that is the best.
Story
The show’s story is brilliant; that is exactly why fans loved it so much in the first place. And the second season is more story-driven. And I will take a story-driven show before an action-driven show any day of the week.

The Witcher 2 Review: Negatives
Repeatedness
Witcher Season 2 Review: Not in story-wise, but there was a monster in every episode of the show coming for Ciri. And Geralt had to save her all the time. I am not against episodic series, but it will hurt the performance when every episode is the same.
It just made the action look empty and empty without a story is wrong. It will work at the start, but it will ultimately run off stale with time.

The Witcher 2: Is It Worth It?
It is worth it. You are talking about Witcher here. This might be one of the best shows of the year, and no one can argue with that statement. And the best thing is that it is still respectful to the source material.
It creates a whole new world different from the original world while also keeping the source material. It is just the best. If you have watched the first season and liked it, go for it again and if you want to start it, do it now.
